The Basic Indoor Board package is $750 plus HST per month. All boarders are also required to select a lesson and/or training package. (Except for retired horses!).

Service Descriptions

Included in your board package is:

  • turnout (starting at 7:30 am) and turnin (at sun down) - and reverse turnout over the summer with turnin starting at 12 pm and turnout at 5 pm

  • 10 x 12 stall - cleaned daily

  • access to outdoor wash stall (both hot and cold) in spring, summer, and fall

  • access to indoor wash stall (cold only) in spring, summer, and fall

  • access to a locker and saddle rack

  • daily turnout in small groups

  • access to pasture turnout in spring, summer, and fall

  • salt blocks in stalls

  • access to indoor 20x40 arena, outdoor 20x60 sand ring, outdoor grass ring set up for over fences work, 6 acre cross field with a variety of coops and cross jumps, hacking areas

  • equine first aid

Hay is provided to each horse in their stalls from small squares. When outdoors, horses have access to free choice hay in large rounds. Maplewood grows some of the hay on the property and source the remaining hay from a farmer who we are proud to include in our group of professional suppliers. Other important hay and grain details are:

  • hay in stalls when turned in and topped up as needed at night check

  • Basic Nutrition Package: Purina Equilizer or EZ Balance, flax, and salt

  • grain supplied by Maplewood at your own expense and fed up to 2x daily

  • inclusion of supplements and medications in feedings, if required (to be supplied at your own expense)

We provide blanketing services based on weather (rain sheets, winter blankets as needed for the daily temperature). If your horse requires a stable blanket in the winter, the stable blanket will be left on while in the stall, and the outer blanket will be put on before being turned out and taken off after turn in.  

If you require additional blanketing or booting, these can be arranged at an additional cost of $125 per month plus HST.

Holding is included when you are using our house vet, farrier, and/or massage therapist. Our veterinarian team is Russell Equine; our farrier is Yvan Roy; and, our massage therapist is Erin Grace. You are welcome to use your own service providers. If you need Maplewood to catch and hold for one of your own service providers, there is a catch and hold fee of $40 per hour (or part thereof) plus HST.

  • Daily Grooming (hoof pick, curry comb, body brush): $300 per month plus HST

  • Seasonal Grooming up to 4 times per year (bridle path, mane, tail, fetlocks):  $35 per month plus HST

  • 1 session per week ($575 plus HST per month): recommended for any boarder who wishes to have weekly training session on their horse (perfect for the horse who is already working well but needs a bit of continuity for behaviour, ride-ability, muscle development).

  • 3 sessions per week ($1600 plus HST per month): recommended for any boarder who wishes to have their horse in additional training (perfect for green horses, horses who need a bit of continuity for behaviour, ride-ability, muscle development).

  • 5 sessions per week ($2500 plus HST per month): recommended for green horses, or when boarders are away on extended vacations & want their horses to stay in work.

The Show Team fee will be due in April for the upcoming show season. This fee provides:

  • Show Prep Clinic registration

  • Organization of shows, access to trailering, and access to certified competition coaches at shows

  • Registration for 2 clinic sessions from the selection of Maplewood hosted clinics

Sale Management Services include: creating ads, speaking with prospective buyers, arranging and managing trials). A commission of 15% of the sale price will be payable to Maplewood at the time of the sale of the horse.
